Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
Six Flags Atlanta Properties is looking for a talented and motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Accounting Manager. This position is designed to oversee the efficient operation of Accounting, Ticketing, and In-Park Audit functions within the Finance Department. Responsible for the accuracy and credibility of financial records and reports, and for the implementation and maintenance of corporate and park approved accounting procedures and controls for Six Flags Atlanta Properties.
Organizational Structure:
• Reports to the Controller
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain integrity of accounting and financial reporting in accordance to GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements, and company guidelines.
• Oversee, lead, and develop staff responsible for general accounting, treasury management, ticketing, and in-park audit functions.
• Review manual and system generated journal entries and key player in completion of monthly Controllers' Reconciliation book items such as bank reconciliations and balance sheet account analyses. Key driver of month end close processes.
• Supervise the capital reporting process. This includes ensuring all procedures and accounting principles involving capital are followed and deadlines are met for fixed asset additions, retirements, and roll forward preparation.
• Supervise the in-park audit department. This department is responsible for the timely review/research of cashier's till variances, till adjustments, and cashier interviews.
• Supervise the ticketing department. This department is responsible for PLU set-up and maintenance, invoicing, and ticket order fulfilments.
• Prepare year-end audit and partnership schedules and respond to ad-hoc requests from external auditors.
• Actively participate in park forecast and leadership council meetings.
• Assist with corporate reporting requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; an MBA and/or CPA a plus.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in Accounting and Financial management.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts including internal controls, balance sheet account analyses, bank reconciliation, and financial analysis techniques.
• Detail oriented, with the ability to create summarized, succinct, and meaningful reports and analyses.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to effectively identify issues and propose solutions.
• Strong decision making and critical thinking skills with the ability to provide "out of the box" thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and accounting software such as Great Plains and Management Reporter.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
