I. Job Summary
Major goals and objectives.
The Brand Design team at Meredith Digital defines the brand experience for premium brands such as People, Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, Travel+Leisure, Health and many more. We are building engaging brand experiences that excite users and amplify the voice of our brands.
We are looking for a Digital Brand Designer to help define and refresh brand identities across our portfolio of sites. In this role you work closely with the Creative Director and other designers to craft cohesive brand design experiences. You must be collaborative in your approach to internal stakeholders, while simultaneously and vigorously championing the consumer experience.
As a Digital Brand Designer at Meredith you will be responsible for doing competitive research, designing the look and feel of various brand elements and refining and iterating on those ideas for various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Research competitive landscapes.
• Stay up to date on latest design trends and styles.
• Build cohesive brand identities for multiple brands.
• Create editorial art including: infographics, logos, headers, illustrations, and quotes.
• Ideate for high level concepts to be used in social media.
• Design video graphics style guides including: title cards, lower thirds, end cards, and logos.
• Update and refresh brand guides.
• Collaborate with UX, Social, and Emerging Platform teams on ongoing basis.

• Use requirements and design feedback to produce design assets used in editorial content.

• Attend meetings with various stakeholders from design, ux, social, email, edit, and marketing teams.
• Attend staff functions including design talks, design outings, etc.
• Contribute to bi-weekly design newsletter.
• Present design solutions and build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders.
• Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big-picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details.

• Keep project management tickets up to date, communicate progress, keep files organized, follow slack channels, and meet deadlines.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong typography skills
• Knowledge of html and css a plus but not essential
• Knowledge of motion graphics a plus
• Illustration skills a plus
• Self motivated
• Strong attention to detail and organized
• Excellent communication skills
• A team player to work in a fast paced environment
