Job Description
Position Summary:
The purpose of this job is to provide timely and accurate reporting of ASC606 revenues. The objective is to ensure that all ASC606 revenues are recorded monthly and accurately as well as maintain all accounts on the respective balance sheets through reconciliation. The position will not only include accounting analysis and reporting, but it will also require data analysis for issue identification and quantifications. Month over month, quarter over quarter, and YTD over YTD variance analysis will also be an important part of duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years experience
3. Proficient working knowledge of personal computers and spreadsheet software.
4. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
6. Professional attitude and appearance.
7. Goal and detail oriented with a willingness to learn.
8. Self motivated ability to set priorities and complete projects.
9. Willingness to work overtime, as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of all of CenturyLink’s systems that support the billing and ledger-closing process, including SAP, RAR, and CCDW.
3. Proficient in SQL language and advanced queries.
4. Ability to process and analyze large volumes of data for variance reporting.
5. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly journal entries with supporting schedules for ASC606 revenue.
2. Identify and report data validity issues.
3. Reconcile all general ledger balance sheet accounts assigned.
4. Run SAP, BW, RAR, and CCDW reports as needed to fill data requests.
5. Research, analyze and explain variances on revenues.
6. Assist with the ASC606 disclosures for SEC filings.
7. Other duties as assigned.
