Required Skills:
The VP of Global Brand & Film Marketing will oversee three functional teams: Global Brand & Film Marketing, Digital & Social Team, and the Marketing Strategy & Planning Team.
IMAX is looking for an accomplished leader who is equal parts right-brained / left-brained, thinks about long-term strategy while practicing short-term solutions, and is comfortable performing at the highest level.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Global Brand & Film Marketing, this position will maintain and grow key partnerships internally and externally through strong brand and film marketing campaigns, as well as assist with IMAX’s expansion into new markets, the launch of new products, and the formation of new strategic alliances.
What you’ll be doing:
• Develop and Manage Studio relationships to ensure team is delivering in line with campaign requirements and needs of the clients
• Lead cross-functional team members (Brand & Film Marketing, Digital & Social) to inform the development and execution of global brand & film marketing strategy, ensuring campaigns are “on strategy” and that all marketing materials share one voice
• Works closely with the EVP, Film & Brand Marketing as a de facto “deputy”
• Lead team of Brand Directors who will oversee IMAX brand & film campaigns, including development of roll-out plan, compiling integrated marketing plan documents, etc.
• Develop KPIs and conduct post-mortems for strategic marketing initiatives and campaigns
• Initiate opportunities that showcase the brand and increase awareness including targeted marketing (including multicultural outreach), seasonal brand campaigns, media partnerships, etc.
• Manage any third-party vendors and agencies, as needed, to execute partnership programs and brand initiatives including cross-promotions, sweepstakes, contests, etc.
• Provide expert marketing counsel and leadership to internal and external stakeholders
• Keep up to date on competitive landscape as well as marketing trends and consumer behaviors, and apply to development of marketing strategies and tactics
• Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize work and balance strategic and tactical issues
What we’re looking for:
• 10+ years of brand and/or film marketing experience required, including 5-7 years of leadership experience
• Proven experience in developing and implementing brand and/or film marketing strategies, including oversight of strategy, marketing tactics, and creative development
• Strong marketing analytical skills, and P&L experience
• Superior communication and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational, planning, time and project management skills with attention to detail
• Self-starter and self-motivated
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment; comfortable with change
• Ability to lead a team with a personable approach, agility and adaptability, all while holding team members accountable to their commitments
• Proven ability to interact professionally with team members at all levels of the organization and external clients
• Entertainment industry knowledge and experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field preferred
