The IT administrator is considered an experienced IT support individual with advanced technical skills and interpersonal skills. Whilst primarily focused on providing support to end users whilst assisting the Manager of IT with licensing, hardware/software deployments an IT administrator is also expected from time to time to be involved with numerous large and small projects being undertaken by the department. An IT administrator requires quick thinking, creative problem solving and a wide, deep pool of knowledge based on experience to draw from for fault resolution.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for maintaining the company’s software support portfolio (slack, gSuite, SAN), video conferencing systems and VOIP/phone systems.
• Act as an escalation point for IT specialists in fault resolution/advanced troubleshooting for machine hardware/software issues.
• Perform basic network patching/cable crimping as needed for room reconfigurations and/or employee movements.
• Undertake minor IT projects as needed (system upgrades, end user training).
• Take ownership of software license management, allocation and revocation – ensuring both and overspend are avoided.
• Manage endpoint clients; provide end user and executive support for a local staff of 40-50 employees and assist in remote support for New York teams
Desired Experience/Skills:
• 3-5 years Systems Administration experience in a corporate environment
• Basic knowledge of network protocols such as: TCP/IP, IP Routing, VLAN, HTTP, SMTP, and SNMP
• Storage Server (SAN/NAS) management and understanding of RAID, AFP/SMB/CIFS, and backup solutions
• VOIP phone and Video Conferencing administration
• Google Apps or comparable email administration experience
• MacOS and Windows
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Highly developed verbal/written communications and organizational skills
• Team player, positive attitude, flexible with changing workflows
Things that are a plus:
• Cisco switch management and configuration (Meraki and/or Cisco IOS)
• Firewall policy and interface configuration/management (Fortinet preferred)
