A new opportunity has become available for a detail-oriented, organized, self-starting Marketing Coordinator to join UBM’s biggest event, Black Hat. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate marketer looking to grow their knowledge in the events sector and digital marketing field.
JOB SUMMARY:
The person in this role will help promote and execute global events while balancing multiple tasks and projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and is comfortable working cross-functionally with internal and external teams. A "can do" attitude is a must for success in this role. The right person to fill this role will also possess an interest in and an aptitude for email, social media marketing, event marketing, and the information security industry. To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will need to be comfortable with marketing analytics and able work with his/her manager to use such analytics to drive marketing decisions.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Email: Comprehensive execution of the Black Hat email program. Includes scheduling, development of email copy, cross collaboration with content and sales teams, list development, testing, deployment, and reporting/analysis to consistently drive efficiency and improved response rates.
• Reporting/Analytics: Work with internal teams and external vendors/partners to accurately track and report on marketing programs, with an emphasis on identifying opportunities for improvement
• Product Positioning: Actively maintain consistent product positioning and accurate information across all public mediums (websites, newsletters, social media, print publications, etc.); ensure communications are fully integrated with marketing strategies throughout the lifecycle of each event
• Marketing Collateral: Responsible for overseeing the creation and deployment of marketing collateral and communications, including but not limited to web banners, websites, digital graphics, print advertisements, printed brochures, signage, registration forms, etc. while ensuring all materials accurately reflect product positioning and key messaging
• On-site Signage: Facilitate the event signage creation process; to include launching signage campaign for each event, facilitating flow of work between internal teams, reviewing creative for accuracy and branding/design standards, circulating creative for approvals, and confirming production of signage within budget
• Copywriting: Develop marketing and editorial copy for email messages, newsletters, social media, websites, and other marketing projects that aligns with product tone and branding
• Quality Control: Ensure all assigned projects and responsibilities are executed on schedule, to spec, within budget, and meet a high standard of quality
• Teamwork: Contribute to the marketing department efforts to generate new marketing tactics and strategic plans. Support the marketing team with ad hoc requests and projects as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Strong attention to detail, timelines, and dedication to product quality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience crafting and writing direct marketing copy, including but not limited to: email marketing messages, sales support materials, and/or other marketing promotions
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people and take direction from multiple individuals and outside partners
• Service-oriented "can do" attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate with others
• Self-motivated, with the willingness to seek additional direction and support when needed
• Ability to make independent, informed decisions appropriate to position level
• Experience and comfort with data capture and analysis, database marketing and research
• Four-year college degree in marketing, business or a related field; or equivalent work experience
• One-to-two years experience in a online media, direct marketing or promotions position
• Proficiency working with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, standard business tools/networks, and the ability to quickly learn new software as needed
• Ability to travel to Las Vegas, NV once per year required
