JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for an experienced Producer. Duties performed include: Selects stories, assembles them in a rundown, creates graphics, writes and copy edits the stories and coordinates Reporter presentation. Responsible for taking the show into the control room and timing it to include commercial breaks. Participate in the editorial process that leads to story assignments. Occasionally, produces content in the field and long-form stories. Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and assemble content. Must have strong knowledge of social media and be able to incorporate and showcase content from multiple platforms into the newscast. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications. Have exceptional news judgment, strong writing and copy editing abilities. Must be able to work in the fast-paced environment under specific time constraints; exceptionally creative. Must be able to think out of the box and find new ways to present information. Must be self-motivated and effectively work independently and on a team. Supervise the work of others. Possess three (3) years of newsroom experience, preferably as a Line Producer. Weekends, holidays and varied hours Req.
