Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Intern to provide quantitative and operational support to the Search team. In this role, you would be able to leverage your internet and marketing skills to develop, execute, and optimize search campaigns. Key tasks will include Search campaign generation/implementation, keyword research, development & analysis, identifying and capitalizing on search marketing trends and messaging key trends and insights to internal account teams and external client contacts.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• 25% - Create, implement, track, analyze and optimize Paid Search campaigns in Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Bing, and other search engines
• 25% - Prepare weekly reports for clients, including communicating key metrics, goal attainment
• 25% - Provide detailed analysis of key metrics and program tracking techniques to increase overall search performance efficiency. Understand how these metrics correlate with overall KPIs
• 10% - Actively test and analyze keywords, copy and landing pages to increase ROI and drive incremental volume
• 10% - Provide consistent and effective support to Senior Managers on forecasting and new business opportunities
• 5% - Actively manage competitor analysis POVs and performance reporting by leveraging tools such as AdGooroo and SEMRush. Identify key trends within the marketplace and implications for our client’s businesses
Supervisory Responsibilities
This is an entry-level position.
Knowledge and Skills Required
• 0-1 years’ digital marketing experience, with directly related Search experience a big plus
• Exceptional quantitative skills and aptitude including advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables are always a plus)
• An enthusiasm for learning about Search Engine Marketing on a fast-growing, thriving team
• Exceptional analytical skills to measure the success of the SEM programs and to expand upon that success
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively in person and in writing
• Passion to learn how search affects overall user experience
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
• Ability to tell bad jokes but make them sound funny anyways
