The Associate Graphic Designer develops and designs layouts of component design, illustrations, infographics, slides, posters, datasheets, displays, event signage, and other printed documents. This position will prepare these collateral pieces for printing and may act as liaison with designated print vendors. May receive some general instruction on routine work, more detailed instruction on new assignments. Makes improvements to existing programs, products and procedures. This individual collaborates with the creative team to plan, organize and execute assigned projects.
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
75% Graphic Design:
• Design collateral layouts, prepare line illustrations, slides, posters and charts, displays and printed documents for presentations
• Develop and maintain knowledge of alternative production techniques and resources
• Support image and brand recognition requirements
• Complete assignments given by Creative Director using style guides to maintain Certiport’s corporate brand in all print, web, and electronic marketing materials
• Illustrate concept(s) by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
• Meet with creative team to collaborate on design projects
• Review design drafts, proof camera-ready art, and ensure proper pagination and color assignment
• Apply established corporate branding specifications to ensure work meets organization guidelines.
• May produce technical illustrations for manuals, brochures, labels, or other documents
• Design, layout, and formatting of collateral to communicate marketing team objectives
• Perform formatting details such as photographic, typographic, and graphic elements for printing and web use
• Improve and update various existing marketing collateral
• Design infographics
• Develop graphic assets for emails and web pages
• Design logos
20% Functional Work:
• Design and edit electronic marketing materials and promotions—may include HTML coding
• Coding web projects such as updating content on the corporate website, creating emails from existing templates, or updating landing pages using HTML, JQuery, and CSS
5% Other duties as assigned, which may include:
• Organizing and labeling file folders of creative content
• Designing internal collateral such as posters and newsletters
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field, or appropriate combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years’ industry experience in graphic design (print collateral and web graphic design)
• Excellent portfolio with a minimum of 10 projects demonstrating visual design work
• Up to date knowledge in (Creative Cloud) Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience in other CC applications, a plus
• Adobe Certified Associate candidates preferred
• Ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas
