The Job
TIME is seeking a national political correspondent based in Washington to help lead our coverage of the Trump administration, the 2020 presidential campaign and national politics. We are looking for a seasoned reporter and skilled writer with a demonstrated ability to break news, articulate ideas and tell powerful stories.
Responsibilities:
• Help anchor TIME’s digital and print coverage of politics.
• Write magazine features.
• Write daily digital stories that distinguish themselves through enterprising reporting, clear thinking, and exclusive interviews.
Skills:
• Reporting experience covering presidential campaigns, the White House, Capitol Hill, or other national political beats.
• A record of developing and maintaining sources on both sides of the political aisle.
• Proven writing skills and a portfolio of magazine-style stories on politics.
• The ability to work in a highly collaborative newsroom, often under intense deadline pressure.
• Experience traveling on the campaign trail and working long hours in pursuit of first-rate journalism.
