Job Description
Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
Summary of Duties:
A Background Investigator conducts and compiles personal and professional background investigations for candidates by conducting complete findings on submitted information. Prepares reports on findings; makes recommendations as to background findings.
Example of Duties of a Background Investigator:
• Reviews completed background forms of candidates with each candidate, checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion.
• Obtains and reviews records from, Department of Justice, and State and Municipal law enforcement records, and private databases where candidate has resided to determine if the candidate was a witness, victim, suspect or perpetrator of any crime criminal activity.
• Obtains and reviews arrest reports, and other relevant documents to determine candidate compliance with company policies.
• Obtains and reviews reports from credit reporting agencies in order to evaluate candidate’s financial responsibility and to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable and logical conclusions about the prospective candidates.
• Prepares final background investigation package for presentation to supervision and Management by organizing all investigative material in accordance with established procedures.
• Meets regularly with management in order to keep them apprised of the status of the investigation.
• Completes background packages for review and final recommendation.
• May train new investigators in the techniques and concepts of administrative background investigation.
• Analyze complex ideas or activities into smaller parts; simultaneously consider numerous facts, perceive patters and relationships, develop theories about past occurrences based on numerous small bits of information or evidence, compare and interpret information, recognize and examine discrepancies, and draw logical conclusions.
• Handle several cases at one time

Applicants should have some field experience in background screening and investigations. Since technology plays a vital part in the job of a corporate background investigator, candidates should have knowledge in the use of various online search databases along with software programs.
