Summary
We’re seeking a Chargeback Rep to provide accounting & financial support to the collection team. This high visibility position will provide revenue retention support. This person will be a key member of the Collections team and will post transactions (a lot of data entry) and challenge potential loss and recover funds wherever possible. The Chargeback Rep will provide the first line support for all incoming credit card chargeback disputes, and will interface daily with internal departments, external service providers, and Yelp Users and Business Owners. The successful applicant will be joining a fun, fast paced, high-growth company and will be involved in the on-going building and improving of accounting processes.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Update internal spreadsheets with incoming chargebacks received (a lot of data entry)
• Investigate US & Canadian chargebacks received from Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex; gather all documentation and assess validity of dispute
• Submit refund request for valid claims
• Present compelling documentation in a clear, detailed, and complete manner to challenge unwarranted disputes on behalf of company
• Determine holds on client accounts; block from future purchases
• Track chargebacks and update client accounts and spreadsheet with final outcome (a lot of data entry)
• Refer suspected fraudulent activity to the appropriate department
• Work closely with account management and operation teams
• Provide email support for Sales & Ops inquiries
• Work on team projects as needed
• Provide phone support to the overall Collections team as needed
The Chargeback Rep should be able to demonstrate the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines. The ideal candidate must have strong written communication skills and have confidence in collaborating with people at all organizational levels within Yelp.
Requirements:
• Prior collections or accounts receivable or banking experience – minimum 1 year required
• Prior chargeback experience- minimum 1 year preferred
• Familiar with banking & credit card standard concepts, practices, and procedures- a plus
• Prior work experience w/ online advertising- a plus
• Have familiarity with google docs (you will be tested)
• Must have strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be comfortable being on the phone
• Must have Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Reliable; able to thrive in a demanding work environment independently
• AA degree or Accounting coursework – preferred
• Able to successfully complete Yelp background review
• Must be a team player, work well with others, and have a sense of humor
