Job Description
Data mining to explain revenue fluctuations, validate changes, and ensure billing accuracy. Analyze bill cycle trends and provide explanations for these trends. Create and run queries utilizing SQL and analyze results. Review order activity prior to billing to identify potential issues. Partner with IT to automate manual billing processes. Communicate issues and work with other departments to ensure resolution. Serve as backup for a variety of other departmental functions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
• Explain revenue fluctuations and validate billing system changes to ensure billing accuracy.
• Analyze bill cycle trends to ensure billing accuracy.
• Assist with the validation of billing system changes.
• Partner with IT to validate scripting results used to update customer data or rates in the billing system.
• Develop strong working relationships with other departments.
• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Provide backup for other department personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, CIS or other business related field or equivalent experience.
• Two or more year’s experience in Business related field or CIS.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience in using SQL or data mining tools.
• Ability to explain revenue impacting variances.
• Detailed and process oriented with ability to organize and set priorities
• Ability to take initiative and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
• Important qualities include being a team player, willingness to learn, possessing a strong work ethic.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
• Ability to work overtime as required
