Job Description
• Manage daily operations of multiple Central Offices with 12+ plus technicians whose work includes the day to day maintenance and repair of design circuits, fiber equipment, various switches, frames and related equipment and power plants. Such services and applications include analog, digital, GPON and high speed digital, DSL, ISDN, 911, audio and video services to include IPTV, POTS, and associated ancillary equipment and software configured to meet existing and anticipated customer needs.
• This includes a major emphasis on training, coaching and development of employees with regards to new processes and quality standards, customer contact, safety, expense control and technical skills.
• Will be responsible for leading a team of technicians who meet attendance and performance standards.
• Will represent CenturyLink with customers and is responsible for meeting and exceeding CTL standards
• Collaborates with the union to achieve a win-win working relationship.
• Celebrates successes, appropriately uses rewards and recognition.
• Motivates team for continuous improvement and achievement of maximum performance.

Work Environment:
• Duty Management work will be scheduled on a rotation basis and pager duty will be required.
• Requires varying tours and hours including possible mandatory overtime and holidays.
• Must perform work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and perform under pressure.
• Must negotiate timeframes for completion and meet critical deadlines.
• Must be willing and able to work with other coworkers to complete job assignments.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. 5+ years related experience.
• Previous experience managing teams within a highly technical environment.
• Strong skills and experience in employee development to include training, coaching and mentoring in a union environment.
• Computer skills are required including email, Email, Word, and legacy systems.
• Working knowledge of WAFA application, DI is preferred.
• Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of residential and business services, Local Network processes, and a fundamental understanding of services and products offered by CenturyLink is preferred.
• Candidate must have the ability to work in a consultative manner with others, i.e. establish rapport, interview/fact-find, present options/recommend solutions, follow-up and customer centric behavior.
• Previous experience in a multi-tasking, result oriented position in a deadline focused department.
• Previous experience successfully dealing with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience with central office procedures including central office power plant system maintenance.
• 5 + years experience with Digital switching (5E, DMS100, etc.)
• 5 + years experience with the computer systems (Windows and appropriate legacy systems)
• Excellent working knowledge of DWDM/CWDM systems and applications
• Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of GPON and IPTV technologies
• Excellent working knowledge of Aggregated Service Routing protocols and equipment
• Extensive Ethernet experience to include EoC and Metro E technologies
• Experience in Fiber Optic transmissions systems, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Prefer a minimum of a degree in Business, IT or Telecom and or 10 years related experience
