Position Summary:
Working from our office in Columbia, MD, the Retention Marketing Manager will work directly with the Vice President, Family Marketing and be responsible for defining and managing the company’s retention program to retain existing families across all lines of business at Pearson’s Online and Blended Learning division. The person in this position must have experience across marketing channels such as email marketing, SMS, content marketing and partnership development plus an in-depth understanding of the full consumer lifecycle journey. In addition, the Retention Marketing Manager should have a proven track record working with cross-functional teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and analyzing and reporting on performance. This key team member should be a high energy, self-starter with the ability to come up with big ideas to drive change across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Define the company’s retention strategy and implement programs to drive long-term customer engagement
• Work cross-functionally with Family Support and School Services teams to implement and manage the retention strategy
• Actively engage with key business functions across the organization to deliver insights and develop action plans to improve customer retention and communication strategy
• Oversee execution of retention strategy including communications plan, evaluating customer feedback and creating a plan to circulate and implement feedback to inform marketing campaigns, retention programs and overall communication strategy
• Champion the awareness and understanding of customer feedback to improve the customer experience across the organization
• Develop partnerships with national and local organizations to provide opportunities for students and families
• Identify, evaluate and manage loyalty partnerships
• Interface with school based points of contact to facilitate and coordinate communications of retention programs
• Develop and manage communication best practices and resources for school use in partnership with School Services and Family Support teams
• Use consumer insights to create and implement innovative concepts that deliver results.
• Work with the Family Analytics team to define and implement retention campaign tracking and measurement
• Work with Brand and Creative teams to define content strategy and oversee execution of assets and content for retention efforts across multiple channels
• Responsible for ensuring all campaigns deployed are tagged correctly to track leads and ROI in Google Analytics

Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing retention programs, with specific focus on marketing campaigns
• Comfortable with driving change across an organization
• Must be a creative and strategic problem solver
• Able to easily manage both strategic/conceptual ideation phase and tactical/executional testing phase
• Project management experience from project creation through implementation
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
• Understanding of online marketing best practices and platforms
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy and professionalism
• Team player and positive attitude in a results-driven environment
• Extensive knowledge of online and mobile marketing landscape and trends
• Data-driven approach and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with all levels of management
