Job Summary
The Senior Manager Carrier Relations manages a set of vendors and associated spend for the company’s primary off-net, leased transport, and collocation providers in APAC. This Sr Manager is a group lead and SME for other members of the group. The Senior Manager works closely with Regional and Local vendors and understands the regional landscape, circuit-based team management, relationship development, creation and executive of vendor strategy, and contract negotiations, to reduce cost and enhance product offerings. The role manages contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance, communication of vendor strategy and capabilities to internal stake holders and facilitates vendor performance management and direction of improved plans to ensure vendors are performing the operation requirement and that they meet contractual SLA commitments.
Job Description
• Manage a team of Carrier Relation Managers responsible for all actions related to contracts, cost and vendor performance, including Third Party Collocation
• Support the network expansion activities via commercial negotiations with vendors
• Manage, review and execute vendor agreements into a single, "most desirable" purchase contract for the company
• Achieve cost savings through circuit term management and negotiate cost waivers and reductions on embedded base of inventory
• Manage spend with key vendors and monitor company's performance against buying plans and revenue commitments
• Take action to correct when spend is not in accordance with requirements
• Develop business relationships and business plans with each carrier that maximize buying potential for the company
• Review vendor and internal performance reports to monitor vendor performance and proactively initiate, develop and drive supplier Vendor Improvement Programs when performance is not achieving the acceptable requirements or contractual SLAs, thus impacting Customer Experience; follow up on all actions, focusing on driving outcome to the identified success criteria
• Build and maintain methods of vendor performance data monitoring sufficient for trend analysis and recommendations, including high quality management information appropriate for use at Executive and Senior Executive reviews
• Tactically understand corporate performance in all aspects of the customer/supplier relationship and proactively communicate areas of improvement & recommend action plans across partner organizations
• Lead service improvement activities and scheduled reviews to calibrate results between external and internal stakeholders
• Create and manage Third Party Collocation strategy, maintaining necessary collocation space/power for network growth
• Build a high-performance team; hire and retain the right talent in the right roles; set goals, delegate work, hold reports accountable; develop and empower direct reports to make decisions and take action.
Qualifications
• + 10 years’ experience participating in operations reviews and driving continuous process improvement in the organization.
• Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking and the ability to operate with a lot of self-direction are essential.
• Executive level presentations and communications required
• Ability to operate in an environment of competing and changing priorities, operating in an autonomous fashion, while juggling multiple tasks and functions
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA preferred
