Scope of Job:Protect the people and property of the Resort, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and delivering memorable experiences to our guests.
Key Objectives:
Provide a high level of customer service to all MCs and guests while providing them a secure environment. Will complete injury/incident reports and ensure safety and security compliance throughout the Resort. Provide training and guidance for new Park Rangers.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Operations
• Maintains access control
• Patrols both Resort including Park, Water Park, SEA LIFE, and Hotels
• Writes detailed and accurate incident/injury reports
• Responds to calls for service including but not limited to:
1. Disturbances
2. Lost children
3. Intoxicated/disorderly persons
4. Lost/stolen items
5. Theft
6. Vandalism
7. On-property traffic collisions
8. Medical incidents (alongside Park Health Services team)
9. Fire/panic alarms
10. Money escorts
11. Key assists
12. Safe assists
13. Suspicious person reports
• Operate Gatehouse including:
◦ bag checks & security screenings of MCs, Vendors, & Visitors
◦ Operating call system for MC Parking Structure and Hotel Access Gate
◦ Access control vehicle access to back of house and parking lot areas
◦ Note fire alarm information when triggered and communicate info to Security and Maintenance management
◦ Direct CPD and CFD to correct locations upon emergency activation
• Surveillance of Resort utilizing CCTV system within LEGOBASE and Gatehouse. Have basic understanding/skills at dispatcher position (recording calls in CAD, dispatching calls, utilizing CCTV)
• Guest screening at park entrances (bag checks)
• Carry hand cuffs, trained in defensive tactics, and adhere park use-of-force policy
2. Marketing
• Assist in staffing special events in Hotel.
3. Financial
• Will work alongside Profit Protection team to investigate and document instances of theft, ticket scalping, or related issues
• Provide surveillance (both in uniform and in plain clothes) of Resort gift shops
• Perform receipt checks and other loss prevention stops
• Update Loss Prevention and investigations trackers
4. Development
• Senior Park Rangers may be called upon to teach Operations, Retail, F&B, and administration active shooter, bomb threat, suspicious persons & packages, and other security-related trainings
• Provide mentorship and training to new Park Rangers
5. People
• Provide excellent service and customer/guest relations to all MCs and Resort guests
• Respond to guest disturbances and deescalate situations. Make quick decisions to activate police involvement if necessary.

Health & Safety:
• Will provide CPR, basic First Aid, & AED use to guests and MCs when necessary
• Record “Near Miss” incidents and enter into reporting system
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
Background & Experience:
Requires at least one year of security, military, or law enforcement experience. Excellent communication skills, reasoning and interpersonal skills are required in this job. Excellent phone, radio and person to person communication skills are essential to this position. Prior theme park experience is helpful.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
• Have a clear understanding of Penal Codes 490.5 and 490.6
• The ability to remain calm and act in high stress and pressure situations is required.
• The ability to defend oneself or others if the situation arises
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and graveyard to support park operations
• Must have current CA Guard Card or PSO, or the ability to obtain one before starting
• PC 832 Course or POST certification helpful
• Must have a valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification or the ability to obtain one before starting
