Taylor Communications is seeking a Director of Accounting to work in our Dayton, OH location. The position is responsible for integrating financial systems into the enterprise, streamlining financial processes while maintaining & enhancing internal controls, communicating status on current business cases and influencing their timely outcome as well as creating new business cases for the CFO, Controller, and other VP’s of Accounting.
Responsibilities Include:
• Financial Systems Integration Projects. Active member of the Taylor Communications’ finance leadership team involved in development of Financial systems strategy.
◦ Stay aligned with business trends and gather timely/actionable insight to project the impact on financial function performance, resource levels and effectiveness.
◦ Lead on financial system integration and upgrade projects, financial representative on all other major business systems change projects.
◦ Recommend course of action on all finance and related system deployments for the organization.
• Develop business cases and ROI analyses to frame resource allocation and systems investment decisions. Generate financial frameworks and scenario analysis to guide internal resource allocation and evaluate system investment returns
• Monitor and Manage Company Finance System Deployment Projects. Use rigorous analysis of data to provide business unit leadership with real-time awareness of project progress and outcome realization performance.
• Finance participation on all business system change activities. Work with IT, senior executives and business unit leadership to provide financial process impact guidance on systems and process changes that aligns interdependent functional groups to produce expected benefits from project implementations.
• Provide important direction on financial systems and data infrastructure. Partner with finance, IT and operational leadership to enhance data quality and accessibility. Identify information requirements, recommend improvements to existing systems and data environments, and work with stakeholders to develop and implement enhancement solutions.
• Perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related major
• 8+ years of experience in Financial Systems Implementations and Accounting Operations with proven progression of responsibilities
• US GAAP knowledge and experience
• 10% travel (local and out-of-area)
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate business processes in a broad context
• Possess a positive, consultative mindset that promotes improvements in operating effectiveness, efficiency and net income.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate with cross-functional teams at all levels of staff and management
• Change Agent. The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes
• Self-starter who can manage projects so that areas of greatest risk are reviewed and issues are covered with management
• Ability to prepare executive-level summaries, conclusions and recommendations based on detail data.
• Ability to get results; can proactively and autonomously drive initiatives and projects from start to finish
• Highly curious; strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to resolution.
• PC literate with a proficiency in excel and model building
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s in Business Administration
• CPA or CGMA license
• Experience working with multiple ERP’s and large databases
• Experience with implementation of new Financial and/or ERP systems
