The Highlights
The Spectrum Enterprise Product Marketing team is responsible for designing and managing product marketing strategies, plans and positioning to help our family of Networking, Voice and Video services grow in the market. Articulating our product-specific story and product value proposition through multiple communications tools is essential to our effectiveness.
The in-house Product Marketing Technical Copywriter is responsible for writing market-facing copy that translates our technical products and their benefits into compelling copy used in internal messaging documents, market facing sales tools (like collateral and web sites), short-format technical marketing papers and industry messaging. The position will also support our development of product value propositions and messaging summaries by providing their expertise in clear, concise copywriting. You’ll work with Product Marketing Managers and Vertical Marketing Managers to capture their themes and translate compelling features and benefits into descriptive differentiation. You’ll be surrounded by product and vertical experts who will routinely seek your support and are eager to work with a creative resource who can help express our value, while also offering candid feedback, as needed, to help improve our results.
What You Will Do
• Specific experience creating, supporting or managing sales collateral or product communications
• Familiarity with business-to-business, software or high-tech marketing communications experience is helpful
• Partner with Product, Channel and Vertical marketing managers to develop and maintain product and industry collateral, product and vertical market website copy and technical marketing briefs
• Generates clear and compelling copy for existing and new products and helps develop product value propositions
• Researches, as needed, relevant industry trends to provide additional background on assignments support material development
• Utilize individual capabilities and skills to write or assess, proof and edit materials as necessary
• Work with corporate brand, content and other marketing teams to ensure effective copy meets brand compliance
• Occasionally work with outside resources and provide guidance to resources for writing support
• Reviews copy using checklist and copy according to specified guidelines
• Maintain production schedules and progress updates
• Other responsibilities as needed
Required Keys for Success
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience
• Two or more years market-facing copywriting experience with technical products or service
• Highly collaborative
• Extremely strong attention to detail
• Strong writing, copy efficiency, proofing and editing skills
• Ability to grasp technical topics and understand their use
• Self-starter with the ability to assess and iterate quickly while managing edits
• Strong project and time management skills
• Vendor management and cross-team collaboration
• Competent in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
