Starz’ Digital Platforms team in Denver is seeking a Senior Manager of OTT Billing Development to join our backend services team. The team is responsible for managing life cycle of subscriptions across all channels (including In-app purchases, direct to consumer, and other internationally accepted payment methods) from acquisition to churn, process recurrence billing for millions, tracking subscription revenue for the company – all while managing scalability and reliability of our established systems.
The Sr. Manager of OTT Billing Development reports to the Executive Director of Digital Platforms as a key member of the Starz Digital Platforms leadership team and serves as the driving force behind the delivery of multiple, concurrent projects and products that leverage and extend our technical platform. The Sr Manager of Software Development draws upon deep technical knowledge, years of experience in the delivery of software development or configuration, proven leadership skills and ability to forge strong working relationships that cross organizational lines to aid us in the continued success of our existing business as well as in new international territories.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of Software Developers and Quality Assurance professionals who are implementing new billing pipelines for our OTT applications.
• Mentor the technical staff to ensure continuous improvement
• Help to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to align and manage expectations of service including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered.
• Accountable for ensuring project delivery excellence for those systems responsible, and clean integration across the platforms beyond those under direct supervision.
• Work with the operational team members to plan objectives and the strategy to comply with professional standards and address the risks to the business.
• Work cross-functionally with peers and business teams to drive improvement initiatives, execute tactics, and provide support on business-impacting issues.
• Review (in detail) the deliverables of the development team, and coordinate and manage work performed by the team.
• Guides technical analysts and other technologists to make sound decisions that support company priorities.
• Plans staffing needs
• Ensures service levels are understood and supports them being met.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of overall IT experience.
• Strong working knowledge of development life cycle management.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical management and technical professionals.
• Ability to organize several teams and focus on best practices, particularly regarding coding standards and quality assurance.
• Minimum 7 years of experience developing large scale business systems applications.
• Minimum 8 years of management experience with programming staff including leadership, planning, and coordination of development work for 4 large projects.
• Able to operate in both a scaled Agile (multi-team) environment to evolve our current product portfolio and deliver strategic projects using Waterfall principles when required.
• Coordination of Release Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design.
• Skills and knowledge acquired through professional Development, Tech. Lead, and Management experience are required in each of the following areas: Human Performance, Organizational Effectiveness, Project Leadership, and Change Management.
