JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is seeking a manager for the Social Media Department to produce videos, articles and graphics for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, as well as oversee several social media producers. As a Social Media Manager, you are comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced setting and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as news breaks. You must demonstrate that you can manage a team, give editorial guidance and be solution-oriented. You are a team player with a positive attitude and your passion for news is bar none!
Flexibility is vital to this role! You will be required to be on call, work holidays, work weekends and shift your schedule as news dictates.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee production for our social media platforms, including Twitter (live-tweeting), Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, as well as Facebook and Instagram Stories, all in a fast-paced setting
• Manage schedules for the department
• Give editorial guidance on stories being posted to the platforms
• Stream live events on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, while simultaneously cutting video segments and posting to the social platforms
• Search for and pitch trending topics for social, dotcom and TV
• Evaluate social media analytics and track social conversation around topics and shows
• Plan ahead for events and create exciting social media content to build and engage followers
• Coordinate between our promotions and dotcom teams on events and channel initiatives
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years of experience in news, TV or web
• Experience managing a team
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to self-proof
• Strong editorial judgment and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in news coverage
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Extensive knowledge of and experience covering news and current events, business, economics, entertainment, and politics
• Experience covering markets and financial news
• Ability to work under pressure and post content in breaking news environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Solid understanding of best practices for all social platforms
• Ability to provide helpful feedback
• Experience using analytics tools
• Experience with creating paid social campaigns

• Experience with live television production
• Experience with Photoshop
