Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Fox Affiliate, WFTX-TV, in sunny SW FL for a top notch Photographerwho will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -
• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms
• Work closely with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories
• Responsible for operating various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED -Candidates must have a college degree and three to five year's news photography experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Assignments will require lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. Candidates must have a valid driver's license with excellent driving history. This is a seven-day a week, twenty-four hour per day operation. Irregular hours and scheduling can be expected. Days off and job assignments will vary. Working conditions may require individual to be present during adverse weather conditions, overnight stories, and travel to various in state and out of state locations.
The following characteristics and skills are a must:
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Drive company vehicle for business purposes
• Utilize graphics software packages for enhanced editing and appealing visual content
• Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's Web sites
• Proficiency with lighting and advanced computer based editing, including Final Cut Pro and AfterEffects
• Proficiency with operating microwave live truck
WORK ENVIRONMENT --
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds as necessary.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record and proof of insurance required
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends, and participate in promotional events as needed
