Designer, Family Circle
I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
The Designer brings innovative ideas and concepts to Family Circle, connecting our strategy and our client’s strategies with on-brand pieces. The Designer participates in the creation of our latest brand identity and extends that identity through sales and promotional materials. The Sr Designer collaborates with the entire marketing team on promotional and branding projects. This person provides design services for special projects, merchandising and promotional programs including: design and production of in-magazine advertorials, mockups for RFP’s, media kits, lookbooks, sell sheets, sales presentations, event signage, digital/social, etc.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Works with internal print center and external print vendors
• Communicates with internal Imaging Center and production department
• Selects and negotiates stock photography
• Archives digital files
• Keeps the design department organized

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as designer in publishing or advertising.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Fluent in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Keynote and Dreamweaver. Video and WordPress experience a plus.
Ability to lead projects without hesitation and work harmoniously with the sales and marketing staff.
Ability to balance great design with meeting short deadlines.
Proven record of collaborative work on design ideas and projects as well as working independently.
Elegant, fun and accessible sense of design.
Ability to accept constructive criticism as well as implement changes to design and layouts as necessary.
Ability to absorb and synthesize branding and style requirements from clients and account managers.
Extreme attention to detail and consistency of work.
Must be well organized and able to balance multiple simultaneous projects.
Good problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
