Position at Corporate Graphics Commercial
The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Specialist will report directly to the production manager of our organizations. The employee will be managing a variety of programs to help reduce injuries and environmental impact and serve as a knowledgeable resource for the safety team members in the field across companies.
POSITION LOCATION:
North Mankato, MN with travel to another location 50% of their time.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts training on safety and environmental topics in classroom and web meeting formats. Training may be directed toward employees, safety managers, or management staff.
• Develops safety training content for use in the company’s learning management system.
• Collects work related injury and illness data from assigned companies in support of the distribution of Corporate Safety Metrics.
• Monitors and evaluates injury and illness reports, near miss incidents, and worker’s comp claims to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Conducts or arranges industrial hygiene monitoring such as noise dosimetry and chemical vapor monitoring.
• Reviews OSHA/EPA/DOT inspection reports and gives guidance on corrective actions and regulatory response.
• Assist company facilities with safety and environmental improvement projects.
• Other company safety and environmental administrative tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• 2 plus years of experience in safety/environmental in a manufacturing environment. Other safety/environmental related experience, such as internships, will be considered.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental procedures and regulations which may include but not limited to:
◦ OSHA Record keeping and Compliance
◦ Ergonomics
◦ Hazard Communication/Employee Right-to-Know
◦ Control of Hazardous Energy (Lock out/Tag out)
◦ Personal Protective Equipment
◦ Blood Borne Pathogens
◦ Injury and Illness Prevention Programs
◦ Hazardous Waste
◦ Research and apply applicable industry safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
◦ Ability to travel up to 10%.
