Job Description
ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR
Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that will feature 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. At a total cost of $2.5 billion, it is the largest private single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth. Situated on the waterfront along the Mystic River and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor will include a six-acre park along the water that will feature a harborwalk, an events lawn, public viewing areas, ornate floral displays and retail and dining experiences that overlook the Encore Harbor Walk.
Encore Boston Harbor is currently under construction with resort opening anticipated June 2019. Once open, Encore Boston Harbor will employ over 4,000 team members. We invite you to apply to be a member of the founding Encore Boston Harbor team.
Our Learning and Development Facilitator is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering instructor-led training and online training in support of the organization’s goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: instructional design, new-hire orientation, delivery of a broad range of learning programs (including leadership development), training venue management and assisting with the daily maintenance and administration of the company’s Learning Management System.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensures the training function is a model example of Encore Boston Harbor’s values and promises, delivering exceptional levels of internal service to our Team Members.
• Facilitates property wide training, including new hire orientation, leadership development programs, management skills, guest service, systems and compliance sessions.
• Designs and produces training materials and aids in support of program goals (i.e. case studies, simulations, games, exercises, etc.).
• Uses e-learning authoring software to develop online learning material to be hosted and delivered property wide via the company’s Learning Management System.
• Assists with monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through knowledge and performance assessment, and provides recommendations for improvement as needed.
• Consults with internal partners, in conjunction with Training Manager, to identify technical and guest service training needs and formulate training tools and processes to meet those needs.
• Works with Learning & Development team to ensure all training materials are accurate and up-to-date.
• Works with team to schedule and setup training rooms, and ensures venues are kept in excellent condition for our Team Members.
• Assists with the administration, enrollment, attendance, and reporting of both live and online programs, within the company’s Learning Management System.
• Collaborates with Wynn Resorts training partners across our property portfolio to share success stories, best practices and resources whenever possible.
• Keeps informed of developments within the department and property, and makes recommendations designed to enhance success.
• Engages in self-directed work, crafts and maintains timetables for projects, drives deadlines and resources, and works with a high degree of initiative, creativity and personal responsibility.
• Leads multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
• Promotes positive, fair, and ethical relations with all Team Members and partners, as an ambassador of the Encore brand.
• Performs additional responsibilities as needed or requested in support of the department’s goals.
• Reports to the Training Manager - Learning & Development.
Job Requirements
Age, Gaming and Certifications:
• 21 years of age or above
• Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Education and/or Experience:
• High School Degree or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of training/facilitation experience or hotel/casino operations experience required (or an equivalent combination of training, education, and professional experience)
• 5+ years’ experience in training and development preferred.
• Significant leadership training experience preferred.
• Proven ability to engage adult learners using a variety of activities based on adult learning principles, with extensive experience facilitating to large groups.
• Experience working with e-Learning design software (i.e. Articulate Storyline, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems preferred.
• Proficient with training needs analyses, creative instructional design, and measuring training effectiveness.
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
