Job Description:
The Pricing Analyst position requires innovative thinking, knowledge about business modeling and the capability of working with large amounts of data from various sources.
Job Responsibilities:
• As part of the global pricing team, improve pricing strategy for Institutional Sales deals with large accounts
• Support making individual offers to large accounts following the strategic guidelines
• Carry out calculations to price new journal package offerings, by combining data from multiple sources and applying approved pricing methodologies.
• Identify improvement potential in calculation logic
• Work with the global sales teams to make adjustments to calculation files based on special cases and regional variations
• Monitor discounts on an account and product level and work with the sales team to ensure adherence to discount guidelines
• Other adhoc duties as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience in pricing, revenue management or consulting
• Proficient in MS Office products with strong knowledge of Excel required (i.e., pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
• Analytical and organized with relentless attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, assertive and convincing communication style
• Highly reliable and able to produce workable solutions and deliver on time work products to high standards of quality
• Strong quantitative ability and comfort with large data sets
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities
Capabilities required:
Technical Capability
Use technical knowledge to efficiently perform price calculations and use business knowledge to challenge the status quo. Prepare convincing presentations to senior management.
Managing Complexity (incorporating change management and flexibility)
Work effectively in a highly complex, diverse, changing environment. Quickly understand the business models used. Manage the interests of various stakeholders and convince them of centrally agreed approach.
Problem Solving
Take initiative to identify current and potential problems and determines the best solution. Identify the cause of problems and key issues through investigation; identifies effective, logical and practical solutions.
Personal Effectiveness (incorporating results focused, productivity, ownership, delegation)
Prioritize tasks, accept ownership of your responsibilities and work with little supervision.
