OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY20th Century Fox
One of the world's largest producers and distributors of motion pictures, 20th Century Fox Film (TCFF) produces, acquires and distributes motion pictures throughout the world. These motion pictures are produced or acquired by the following units of 20th Century Fox Film: Twentieth Century Fox, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox International Productions, and Twentieth Century Fox Animation. During fiscal 2017, TCFF placed 25 motion pictures in general release in the United States. The motion pictures produced and/or distributed by TCFF in the United States and international territories in fiscal 2017 included Hidden Figures, Logan, Jackie, and The Boss Baby. TCFF has released or currently plans to release approximately 23 motion pictures in the United States in fiscal 2018.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As co-head of the global strategy team, responsible for strategy, research and creative planning with Heads of Global Marketing, including defining early research needs; discussing global positioning, strategy and creative phasing; and clarifying delivery deadlines. Lead vision meetings with filmmakers, production executives, department heads and film leads before film goes into production. Craft positioning paragraph and communicate to filmmakers, including surfacing any differences of opinion. Specific duties include: 1) Strategy development, internal approvals and distribution duties including development of global positioning and strategy; soliciting regional and key territory input (positioning, creative considerations, specific opportunities or concerns); reviewing and signing-off of Global Topline Marketing Strategy Draft with key executives; targeting, positioning, campaign themes, campaign milestones and phasing; distributing approved written Topline Marketing Strategy to department heads, department film leads, regions and territories; and setting up Filmmaker Strategy Conversation. 2) Campaign development duties including bringing in and managing thought-partners to contribute insights, strategic recommendations and ideas; bringing in and overseeing management of specialist consultants; setting up regular title-specific, cross-functional Working Group Meetings to develop globally integrated campaigns (both big ideas and nuts and bolts); course-correcting and optimizing as needed; maintaining and distributing Key Marketing Documents on an ongoing basis, soliciting continued input; communicating strategy and marketing/creative updates to international regions and territories; reviewing international territory campaigns and regional highlights decks; sharing highlights globally; setting up filmmaker campaign presentations; overseeing creation of filmmaker decks; and setting up by-title content planning meetings.
Job Requirements:
Requires ten (10) years of global strategy direction or related experience in marketing management in the international film industry, including experience developing global strategies and overseeing marketing activities for cinema/film release; and building and maintaining relationships with key external and internal clients, including media agencies and studios.
Experience must include five (5) years of managing staff/team; publicity experience, including accompanying and wrangling talent, arranging press junkets, liaising with talent representatives, dealing with media directly and pitching story ideas to media; and organizing and presenting in large public forums or industry events, including presenting to executives, filmmakers and studio personnel on a regular basis.
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) Knowledge of local market media landscape and media mix in key territories; 2) Knowledge of film asset archive systems; 3) Knowledge of dubbing/sub-titling process for non-English language territories; and 4) Working with high level film executives and studio heads
