Job Summary: T
The person in this position is responsible for designing and executing exciting, high-quality and engaging 2D and 3D animated art assets for video slot gaming applications. Such assets might include symbol and typographic motion graphics, complex screen transitions, rotoscoped video composites and 2D / 3D object animations in combination with realistic particle and visual effects.
Must have expert proficiency in handling all graphic formats and be able to create 2D prototype layouts and graphical components at a professional level. Expected to work directly with engineers to process assets into game-usable formats and troubleshoot performance and implementation issues.
Position Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Develops product concept, strategy and theme
• Creates layouts from existing game designs
• Designs art for digital or screen printed processes using four-color and/or spot-color files
• Produces digital graphics and/or animations
• Requires quality control of design elements and layout for fit, form and function
• Supplies vendors with art files when requested
• Communicates with print vendors to ensure accuracy of printed artwork or to solve production
related issues
• Participates in team meetings to share relevant information and technology transfer
• Researches new services, techniques, and competing products to help understand current and future technologies
Position Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Proficient in design software on a Mac and PC
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Requires extensive understanding of all art and files preparation, layout procedures and processes, type design and manipulation
• Understanding of screen printing and digital processes are beneficial
• Professional portfolio demonstrating a high level of skill in creating polished motion graphics, animated typography, and visual effects with a strong sense of timing, spacing and attention to detail.
• Expert level proficiency in Adobe after Effects; moderate proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Skill in pre-visualization and technical problem-solving a must.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality, realistic particle effects and transitions using Particle Illusion, Trapcode Suite and/or Element3D
• Working knowledge at least one 3D modeling application, preferably Maya or 3D Studio Max.
• Must have multi-tasking experience and abilities
• Must be able to effectively communicate at both the lowest and highest levels in the organization
• Must be detail oriented and well organized
