Overview
Canon U. S. A., Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Accountant (Accountant, Senior) to join our Accounting department in Melville, NY. Organizes and maintains the company's business records through preparation of journal entries, reports and detailed analysis of accounts.
Responsibilities
• Prepares journal entries and performs account reconciliations or other financial analysis of medium complexity
• Identifies account variances, researches discrepancies and determines corrective courses of action
• Prepares support documents for internal and external auditors
• May perform system testing for upgrades and enhancements to financial systems
• Will be involved in projects and in analytical work
• High volume department; overtime will be required at month end close and may be necessary at other times depending on business needs
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting (4 years) with accounting background required
• 5 years relevant experience required
• Should be familiar with computerized accounting systems and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Oracle experience preferred
• Must be willing and available to work overtime when required
• Microsoft Excel, Word experience is required
• Fluency in Spanish both verbal and written a plus
