Program Director WROV-FM and WROV-HD2
Job Summary:
Leads all aspects of radio station’s on-air experience in a leadership and operations role, responsible for talent, content, programming, and online presence.
The Radio Program Director position is a leadership and operations role with responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of ensuring a successful radio program (including on air talent and content) and station (including all facets of daily broadcasts). This position is one of 850+ program directors who work in over 850 radio stations across the United States. The Radio Program Director reports to the market Senior Vice President Of Programming.

Are you it? iHeart Media Roanoke/Lynchburg needs a PD/PM Drive for WROV - Central and Southwest Virginia’s heritage rock station for nearly 30 years - and programming the Roanoke Valley's Alternative, Alt 96. Live, work and play in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains.
Required Skills:
The Radio Program Director is responsible for:
• Direct and monitor stations programming and activities in conformance with FCC rules and regulations, company policy, and applicable federal, state and local laws.
• Plan and oversee all on-air programming and production.
• Approve all commercial and paid programming content.
• Coordinate with programming and sales staff to plan and execute marketing, promotions and image campaigns.
• Evaluate programming available from distributors, syndicators, and independent producers to recommend acquisitions for broadcast.
• Coach on-air staff.
• Working with both the GM and sales manager in support of local and corporate business objectives including increasing local market share and listeners, ratings, and revenue.
• Implementing content and development of station’s website, social media activities, and online presence to deepen listener relationships (eg, Facebook, contests, Twitter, Instagram etc.).
• Daily PM Drive Airshift on WROV -FM
• Protect the station license
Required Experience:
• Four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of GSelector a plus
• Working knowledge of Arbitron software and diary methodology
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations..
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to be flexible and work under short deadlines.
• Ability to perform as On-Air Announcer Classic Rock formatted station.
