Description
Twitter seeks an SEO lead who will be responsible for building the new foundation behind our search traffic efforts and strengthening Twitter’s presence on search engines across the world. The ideal candidate is an expert on the technical components of SEO like sitemaps, link-building, and search engine friendly site design and in creating innovative approaches to areas like mobile-first indexation and web endpoint experimentation.
This role requires the ability to work independently with product and engineering teams to implement experiments, marketing teams to create content, and BI teams to drive measurement and attribution. This is a high profile position that offers the right candidate an opportunity to help billions of people discover great content on Twitter.
This position is located at Twitter HQ in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
• Define Twitter’s SEO strategy and measurement approach to new pages featuring Twitter’s real-time content and product features
• Partner with engineering and product teams to define requirements and build the infrastructure around key SEO components
• Drive key SEO activities around the optimization of content, site architecture, and search traffic tracking
• Develop and refine an SEO experimentation framework. Running A/B tests to understand which SEO strategies and tactics are most effective at impacting user growth
• Collaborate with product teams to perform SEO audit, prioritize projects, and drive traffic conversion
• Analyze desktop and mobile pages and partner with research teams for insights driving organic evergreen traffic, trends, and traffic seasonality
• Create and manage internal SEO tools and dashboards to track progress against company goals

Requirements
• 4-5+ years of relevant SEO work
• BA/BS in economics, mathematics, computer science or other quantitative fields preferred
• Expertise working with analytical tools (Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics) as well as the ability to apply large sets of data towards solving business objectives
• Experience with technical SEO (redirects, site speed, canonicalization, etc.)
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Experience working across both mobile and web platforms, building SEO capabilities from scratch, and running A/B experiments
• Successful track record collaborating with and influencing product management, design, and engineering organizations
