Job Summary
The Manager Technical Solutions manages a team of motivated technical application and system administrators responsible for providing and maintaining sustainable, focused and coordinated configuration solutions targeted at productivity and collaboration through third party vendor applications. This role is accountable for communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards to team members. The Manager Technical Solutions primary objective is to work with the business to improve productivity and collaboration across the organization and better service internal customers by consolidating and streamlining product related information and automating processes where relevant. Similarly, this position will work with teams to identify process changes and information sharing methods, to accommodate efficiencies and accuracies in transferring information into and out of the various organizations. The solutions delivered should take into consideration the needs of the many consumers of this information across the enterprise, along with other overlapping IT initiatives in development to avoid any redundant work and ensure coordinated solutions are developed.
Essential Job Functions:
• Identify opportunities for technology improvements, improved organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and innovative solutions to help achieve business benefits through third party vendor productivity and collaboration solutions
• Coordinate with other cross functional leaders within the IT and business leaders to ensure holistic application solution designs to meet business needs
• Help drive user adoption of new initiatives and implemented solutions
• Create and communicate to management high level project plans and milestones
• Take responsibility for making key decisions to ensure the successful implementation of all assigned initiatives
• Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing work team, encouraging excellence and building a team with exceptional technical talent
• Plan and document succession planning within scope of responsibility
• Mentor and coach others
• Manage resource time across multiple large scale projects.
• Work with Vendors and application developers to determine possible product value and usefulness to above mentioned business needs.
• Create internal team processes to help a small team manage a large amount of work.
• Create roadmaps for future project work using resource bandwidth available
• Maintain a department web site that documents agreed to functionality, benchmarking information, progress and priorities
• Maintains effective working relationships with internal personnel and external agency partners.
• Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
• Consider budget in all decisions regarding software licensing and project planning
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience
Required Experience:
• 5+ years in rolling out and managing productivity applications and collaboration tools, developing technical documentation of application systems.
• Developing strategy and plans for delivering projects on schedule and under budget
• Experience
• MANDATORY Experience with the Atlassian suite including, but not limited to JIRA, Confluence and HipChat.
• Performing all application administration tasks as well as the ability to build complex processes within JIRA or equivalent in order to manager
• Performing all system administration tasks for a variety of applications including log management, configuration changes, plug-in integration and upgrades.
• Experience in other applications (system and application) including, but not limited to QASymphony, Quality Center, Team Track, Agile PLM and Planview, Slack, Rally.
• Experience in a business analyst role working with both technical team members (such as developers and test engineers), end users as well as executives
• Experience and knowledge in dissecting process flows provided by business teams and translating them into a workable process for the applications.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with a variety of ALM tools, Agile/Scrum management software tools, team collaboration, defect tracking and test case management
• Monitoring application server health
• Gaming Industry experience preferred
• Experience web based application design, preferred
• Experience with source code management software
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Detail-oriented, organized, and ability to work with limited supervision
• Experience communicating with developers and less-technical business users
• Administration and configuration of JIRA, Confluence, QASymphony, Planview, Agile PLM, Rally, Coverity, Slack
• Windows Server side support and maintenance of applications
• Server App: Tomcat, IIS
• Programming languages: Groovy, C#
• Web Technologies: CSS, HTML, XML
• Database: MS SQL Server
