Job Summary
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst has responsibility for data, reporting, metrics, and, analytics within the Finance practice at CenturyLink. This role will support the Business Intelligence Manager with analysis and project management activities. They will lead and provide guidance to the business on short and long term decisions and help drive performance
Job Description
• Uses several techniques to solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires multiple variables and/or factors.
• Will define, lead, and implement tactical plans in support of strategic initiatives.
• Receives objectives and determines approach to achieving objectives.
• Defines and implements data control methods to insure accurate and effective data feeds are leveraged appropriately supporting all aspects of the business.
• Supports the formalization and establishment of all data models including but not limited to customer profitability, facility and voice expenses, accounting, FPA, and Operation metrics.
• Provide analytical support for review with supported organizations including but not limited to customer profitability, facility and voice expenses, accounting, FPA, and Operation metrics
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to address inefficiencies through the use of traditional and advanced analytical methods to generate reporting for all EO levels.
• Makes decisions but may not have final authority for all aspects of resource commitment.
• Accountable for the achievement of operational goals.
• Integrates internal and external organizational needs and concerns with business issues.
• Serves as an advocate for business partner.
• Serves as a liaison on specific projects with other work areas.
• Create and maintain an expansion of metrics system from current functions to further developed views.
• Prepare ad-hoc request reporting.
• Special projects as requested.
• Produce job aids and process documentation of all reports.
• Support project management initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
• Investigating and resolving reporting problems and questions.
• Requires strong work ethic, ability to work independently and strategically on complex, long-term projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required to help with communication, team support and team effectiveness.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• 5-6 years minimum of related experience.
• Proficiency in Access, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical and presentation development/delivery skills.
• Experience with database design and database query tools such as SQL
• Experience with ETL Tools(SSIS, Informatica, or Lavastorm)
• Experience interacting with business analysts and technical leads.
• Ability to balance multiple requests and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to integrate and develop organization culture
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with executives, peers, employees, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and be able to effectively multi-task in a very fast paced environment
• Advanced written and oral communication skills
• Experience interacting with Finance and Operation organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters in computer science, mathematics, MIS, Business Intelligence or equivalent preferred but not required
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM solutions.
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience developing reporting in analytic tools(OBIEE, Tableau, Power BI, R, Python or equivalent).
• Knowledge of operational processes
• Experience engaging audit leads and implementing SOX controls
