VR - Lead Artist (Game Engine)
Framestore's VR team in New York are looking for a Lead Artist (Game Engine) to join the team.
The Lead Artist will have a balance of artistic talent, technical knowledge and leadership skills. This role is critical to the success of the division by leading key projects for the studio.
Responsibilities
• Direct and participate in the production of all visual material, both environments and characters
• Be accountable for the visual quality delivered while staying within technical limits
• Manage the project artistic team which will be a mix of internal, remote and outsourcing
• Work in partnership with the producer, technical lead and creative lead to hit the project objectives
Required Skills
• Extensive experience with asset production for real-time
• Knowledge of modeling techniques, texture mapping and materials
• Knowledge of animation and rigging
• Knowledge of streaming and LOD systems linked to the engine
• Comfortable in a range of content creation softwares including Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush/Mudbox, Houdini, Substance Painter/Designer
• Team management skills with a proven track record
• Good communication, both written and verbal
Nice to Have
• Experience with CG/VFX workflows
• Experience with VR/AR platforms
• Experience managing remote teams
