Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking Data Strategy and Analytics Lead to join the team. This position is located in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
The Data Strategy and Analytics Lead will be responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement and execution of a data and analytics strategy for Haymarket Media. S/he will partner with the editorial, information technology “IT”, sales, and events communities within Haymarket to drive and educate on standard best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing data analytics and data reporting tooling with an emphasis on aligning data across disparate sources, ensuring data quality and in building reporting and metrics dashboards. The ultimate goal is to evolve reporting into actionable insights and recommendations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work as a strategic partner with Haymarket business units to support new insights and reveal opportunities
• Establish and oversee data strategy and analytics offerings, process, and procedures within the organization
• Build out capabilities in data reporting, analytics, data governance, data analysis, data quality, and metrics dashboards in the customer, advertiser, and editorial performance areas
• Design and build out a consistent approach and tooling for data strategy, analytics, and reporting
• Distill and synchronize various data sources to develop fact-based and strategically sound insights and recommendations for the business
• Influence the digital team, business units, and business functions and champion data driven decisions that help Haymarket engage with customers
• Enroll, energize, and enable a cross-functional team behind your strategies for analytics and for the business. The ability to handle complexity and numerous priorities/projects, lead by influence across the organization, and build support behind strategies and proposals
• Train and educate staff at all levels of skills and expertise on how to best leverage the tools
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to grow the data and analytics discipline for each business unit
Within this role, the Data Strategy and Analytics Lead may execute projects that span:

• Advanced Analytics & Modeling
◦ Defining model frameworks
◦ Establishing initial conditions
◦ Developing insights and presenting results
• CRM Analytics
◦ Profiling, retention, conversion, up-sell, cross-sell
◦ Creativity in framing multivariate modeling
• Online Campaign Analytics
◦ Website analytics
◦ Creative optimization
◦ A-B and multivariate test design
◦ Engagement Analysis/Scoring
• Market Research
◦ Assess existing market research and develop research plans
◦ Design segmentation studies, concept tests, market simulations, tracking studies
◦ While proficiency across all areas listed above is not expected, versatility and the ability to function in a dynamic environment is a must.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
The ideal candidate is an expert on Analytical Platforms (specifically GA 360), Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, and Business Intelligence as well as the developing capabilities in AI, EDW, and ETL.
• Google Analytics, preferably 360 (need Premium).
◦ At least 4 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done implementation
◦ GAIQ certification highly required
• Google Tag Manager (GTM), preferably 360
◦ At least 2 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done a GA implementation using GTM
◦ Strong command of JavaScript
◦ Demonstrated experience using the data Layer objects
• Google BigQuery
◦ 2 years’ experience with (either) standard or legacy SQL
◦ Certification preferred: https://cloud.google.com/certification/
• SQL mastery
◦ 2+ year’s continuous, hands-on experience with SQL (preferably SQL Server). Certification a plus
• PowerBI
◦ Strong skills in PowerBI. Tableau a plus
◦ Strong skills in Excel, notably functions. Bonus experience with DAX (language in PowerBI), SSRS, or Vertipaq
• Reporting and Communications
◦ Demonstrated Experience with creating reporting, requirements gathering, project management, excellent likeability, and speaking skills. Must form clear, actionable, and democratic statements.
◦ Proven ability to drive insights
