Who we are: Spectrum Networks is a growing organization, with 16 Local News Channels nationwide and 3 Regional Sports Networks in the Los Angeles area.
The Environment: Spectrum News is a 24-hour breaking news network which requires employees who are flexible and available to work various shift, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and holidays. The network is focused on the morning news, which means early mornings, but it also means primarily being off about noon

JOB SUMMARY
The PEG Operations Coordinator will provide technical support for studio operations and programming. Teach basic courses in video production and editing to community members who use our PEG facilities and equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Support and operate playback of automation equipment for regular cablecast programming and encoding.
• Operate video/audio and automation systems equipment.
• Encode digital video content for automation systems.
• Monitors PEG channels to ensure good picture and sound quality and to assure that all programs are switched as scheduled by the automation system.
• Teach basic courses in video production and editing.
• Prepare, update and submit weekly and monthly schedules for PEG channels.
• Operate community bulletin board, loading and updating submissions.
• Communicate to engineering regarding malfunctioning equipment.
• Keep accurate and up to date records and contracts for all show producers.
• Prepare and complete discrepancy/maintenance report forms when problems occur with PEG programming, channels and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
• Knowledge of the computer automation systems used in PEG facilities required
• Knowledge of studio-based production and post production
• Basic understanding of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of Television Broadcasting systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure and time deadlines.
• Ability to read waveform, vector-scope and RF monitor
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere preferred, Adobe After Effects a plus
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently
• Must be detail oriented, logical and be able to work well under pressure
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the State of residence
Education
Associates degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or related field or comparable television, cable television work experience
Related Work Experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Television studio environment
• Primarily inside in a climate controlled environment
• Communicates in person, by phone and by email
• Must be able to work under time pressure deadlines and willing and able to work different shifts or longer shifts. Willing and able to work weekends.
• Materials and equipment used: various studio and control room television equipment, computers and computer-related equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and loss of staff members
• Participate in an established on-call rotation
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying distances
• Local travel in company car and may require additional trips
