Job Description
Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
As a Chef de Partie your role will include:
Responsibilities:
The Chef de Partie supports the outlet chefs and is responsible for supervising kitchen staff. This position works on all stations within the kitchen, conducting product inventories and ensuring the preparation and quality to outlet standards. This position assists in guiding culinary employees on food preparation and quality standards as well as maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and operation of kitchen equipment in accordance with state and local health and food safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities include but is not limited to the following:
*Responsible for preparing and finishing foods on all stations within the kitchen.
*Meet quality standards, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
*Assist the Chef as needed in execution of production.
*Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
*Maintain accurate inventories while informing management of restocking needs to prevent product shortages.
*Notifies chef on duty prior to end of shift if unable to complete assigned task(s) within allotted time.
Job Requirements
*Candidates must be able to communicate in English, read and follow recipes, and complete basic mathematical calculations. Second language is a plus.
• 3 – 5 years culinary experience in a similar role; preferably in a high volume, luxury hotel/restaurant, scratch-cooking environment.
*Candidate must exhibit extensive sanitation and culinary knowledge, accurate knife skills, and the ability to lead and motivate staff.
*Requires the ability to work organized and within a team environment.
*Ability to work well under pressure, be a logical thinker, remains calm and resolve problems using a good judgement.
*Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize and follow through in order to meet deadlines.
*Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required for this position at all times.
*Culinary training or degree is preferred, but not required.
*Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
*Requires a valid health card.
