Requirements
Position Description:
Imprint seeks a resourceful and imaginative senior designer, interested in continuing their career in children’s publishing. The position encompasses a range of design-related responsibilities associated with every stage of producing picture books, chapter books, middle grade, and young adult novels in both hardcover and paperback. The position will sometimes work with licensing projects and adult titles. The ideal candidate will have strong sense of commercial design & branding, knowledge of the children’s book marketplace, interest in pop culture, and a keen eye for new ideas and trends.
Major Responsibilities:
• Deliver creative solutions to design challenges
• Design and manage all stages of book packaging (jackets, covers, interiors), from early concept to final bound book
• Closely collaborate on book projects with editorial team, creative director, and production department
• Assist creative director on design tasks
• Work with freelancers, illustrators, photographers, and agents
• Route material for approval, maintain schedules, and prepare files for output
• Participate in Imprint brainstorming
• Work with other teams/departments to ensure materials requests are met in a timely and effective manner
Skills:
• Strong Portfolio - Your design portfolio demonstrates creative talent, a refined sense of typography, and a powerful sense of communication

Requirements:
• Design portfolio illustrating creative talent
• Excellent knowledge and skills in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.

Experience Needed:
• Minimum 3 years professional design experience in children’s publishing
Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art or equivalent
