Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be seasoned in the areas of General Ledger Accounting and financial reporting, process improvement, budget analysis, managing special projects and working with team members.
The company is an independent Business Unit of iHeart Media (iHeart Radio) with global Revenue streams from Data Analytics (Media Monitors) and broadcast industry Software sales (RCS, the world’s largest Broadcast software company). A market leader in both the verticals, the company seeks to fill the role of Accounting Manager / Special Projects in its White Plains, NY location.
This driven and self-motivated individual will direct key aspects of the organization’s accounting and consolidation functions as well as support the planning and forecasting function through a series of special projects. Reporting to the Global VP of Finance, this individual will provide backup for both the Controller and Planner. The Accounting Manager will provide technical accounting oversight, hands on analysis and systems and reporting support.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist the Corporate Controller in month end activities, including transactional accounting responsibilities such as posting Journal entries, account reconciliations and managing KPI’s.
• Manage international reporting and consolidating elimination entries for more than 20 companies.
• Manage special projects to automate manual processes and improve productivity.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting to comply with US GAAP.
• Support the Planning and Forecasting function by becoming an expert in various system tools to enhance reporting and analysis of key variances.
Required Qualifications / Skills:
• 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting roles, candidates with public accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• Sound analytical skills including proficiency in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and standards.
• Strong computer literacy skills especially with Microsoft Excel & Accounting/Finance software.
• Hands on problem solving skills, attention to detail and with a keen sense for process improvements.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels
