Responsibilities
The responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:
• Key role in Global finance working as part of the Global reporting and compliance team for a multinational entertainment company
• The role crosses management and review of the Global consolidation of over 50 business units plus technical accounting guidance and compliance across the group
• Oversee the review of monthly data submitted by operating units including intercompany variances and consolidation elimination entries
• Maintain and update schedules and reports in BPC, the SME consolidation system (training will be provided)
• Work in a team environment on projects that emerge from corporate accounting responsibilities, including assistance in reporting of the annual budget
• Assist in implementation of new accounting standards including revenue recognition, leases and financial instruments
• Assist in ensuring global compliance with SME accounting policies and answering ad hoc accounting questions
• Review and guidance on accounting for significant deals, including digital revenue deals, acquisitions and one time transactions
• Management and overview of preparation of information for SEC reporting requirements for parent company Sony Corp
• Liaise with company actuaries and ensure correct accounting for pensions
• Assist with project to transition from US GAAP to IFRS
• High level of exposure to worldwide and US finance teams and Global Controller
Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years public accounting experience ideally working primarily in the entertainment or advertising space
• Strong communication and excel skills, great to have as part of a team
• CPA strongly preferred, candidate must have a strong grasp of US GAAP and ideally IFRS and be able to apply and effectively communicate this knowledge
