We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our HR team as an Employee Relations Specialist at the corporate office in Camarillo, CA. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
• Helps to maintain a positive employee relations climate by proactively providing guidance to managers and responding to employee inquiries
• Act as liaison between employee on all employee relations issues
• Receive, investigate and resolve employee complaints and issues
• Works collaboratively with employees and departmental leadership in carrying out their responsibilities on employee relations matters
• Exercise good judgment and problem solving skills in order to regularly resolve conflicts
• Recognizes patterns and anticipates employee-related issues; Develops, recommends, and initiates appropriate steps for resolution in accordance with policies and procedures
• Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental leaders and employees; Helps employees and departmental leadership settle work-related conflicts through advice and guidance
• Documents all employee relations matters as appropriate for the situation and in accordance with legal compliance and organizational policies and procedures
Workers’ Comp
• Coordinate with carrier and employees on all workers’ compensation claims
• Work with Vendors on ergonomic studies and work station modifications as needed
Leaves of Absence
• Administers all leaves of absence in multiple states/jurisdictions (i.e. medical, FMLA, STD, LTD, military, unpaid personal leaves)
• Determine appropriate leave for employee to take
• Track leaves of absence through HRIS system
HRIS System – management and maintenance of Human Resource Information System
Must be able to handle and maintain a large volume of confidential and non-routine information by implementing discernment, discretion and diplomacy. Will be expected to exercise initiative, sound judgment and make decisions within the scope of authority. Will be expected to consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
Desired Job Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years in Employee Relations, Leaves of Absence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Must be well organized and detail oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work effectively with HR team members, senior management, and employees
• Must have a willingness to demonstrate accountability for responsibility of projects and deadlines with ability to work under pressure
• Experience in Employee Relations, Leaves of Absence, Workers’ Comp and excellence in customer service. Also, must be a self-starter, able to not only recognize “need areas” but to develop solutions as well
