Job Description

The Opportunity: WZZM 13, the TEGNA owned ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an experienced sales manager to meet and exceed revenue goals for local and national major accounts while generating new and incremental revenue opportunities. The Major Accounts Sales Manager will work with the National Rep Firm, handle a regional and national book of business, as well as lead a transactional account based sales team.

Responsibilities:
• Plans and develops means of achieving revenue goals for regional and national core accounts
• Creates strategies to increase cross-platform revenue on local agency business
• Strategically targets existing accounts to increase shares of business
• Works with DSM to find digital revenue opportunities on major accounts and agencies
• Develops incremental opportunities with existing advertisers
• Develops and grows relationships with key decision-makers for both local and national accounts
• Effectively coach, train, and develop sellers and support team members
• Communicates to the transactional sales unit with appropriate information on performance in the market, category pacing, programming, rate and pertinent research information
• Oversees station collateral information related to rating projections, sports, specials and competitive market footing in cooperation with station Research Analyst
• Works closely with station sales leadership in pricing and managing inventory
• Supports the station’s sales strategic goals, including sales transformation
• Assists Director of Sales in special projects as assigned
• Network nationally, regionally, and locally to stay informed of emerging media and digital trends, rates and product solutions
Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience selling advertising solutions • Minimum of 3 years of large account management, solution selling to medium-large businesses
• Prior sales management experience required
• Knowledge of all facets of digital sales and marketing
• Adept at creating new revenue opportunities
• Must have advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and bring projects to completion
• Strong presenter and communicator with internal and external customers and partners
• Strong leadership skills
