Universal Music Group’s Streaming Marketing department is looking for a passionate and eager candidate to help brainstorm, create, and implement critical business solutions for a wide variety of stakeholders throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate should be well-versed in data analysis, with a solid understanding (or a willingness to learn) the business models that are currently revolutionizing streaming media. Candidates should possess competencies in Excel, SQL, Tableau and other data manipulation/visualization platforms. Proficiency with Python is highly desirable.
This candidate should have the ability to manage requests in a professional manner and communicate findings to a variety of stakeholders and work collaboratively in cross-functional project teams.
The Streaming Marketing Department utilizes data in all strategy development and decision making to reach established quarterly and annual goals in a collaborative team environment. We are hiring for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and is looking for longer term career possibilities.
Job Functions:
• Create SQL queries to extract data from files within Google BigQuery or other SQL platforms.
• Build visualizations in Tableau, DOMO, and Google DataStudio.
• Produce and distribute Department reports/analysis/automations as directed.
• Deliver data-driven solutions/recommendations that incorporate rigorous research and analysis.
• Help develop and review methodology for departmental tools.
• Identify user/partner trends, including but not limited to user engagement, listening habits, conversion, retention, monetization, genre insights, among many others.
• Coordinate with team to ensure inclusion and alignment across alldepartment job functions and initiatives.
• Collaborate as directed for key department initiatives and projects.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of SQL, Excel, Tableau, DataStudio, Google Sheets
• Knowledge of Python & BigQuery would be a plus.
• Familiarity of Streaming platforms including: Spotify, Apple Music,Amazon, YouTube, Tidal, Deezer, etc …
• Teamwork, interpersonal skills, appetite for learning, problem solving and adaptability.
• Passion, curiosity and creative problem solving for music and the data that is used within the industry.
• Keen organizational, time management and prioritization skills; attention to detail, accuracy and follow through in a fast-paced environment;always strives to deliver exceptional results; deadline driven; ability to maintain strict confidentiality on materials and information used in Streaming Marketing Department.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience:
• Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in analysis, management consulting, or similar role and experience in digital marketing, radio, television or elsewhere within the entertainment industry.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree
