Job Summary:
The Marketing and Sales Representative is responsible for providing a full array of marketing support and customer service for the Maryland State Lottery. The position will work with the customer to help provide a better and a more productive Retailer network. This will be accomplished through professional training, assisting Retailers with accounting related issues, developing the Retailer network, providing research feedback on games, providing input on game and promotional ideas and supporting the customer at Lottery events.
Regular travel will be a weekly requirement of this job. Extensive travel will be required at times, as well as occasional overnight trips.
Principal Activities:
Conduct training at Retailer locations.
Visit Retailers in assigned territories to help increase Lottery sales through utilization of developed marketing techniques
Provide assistance to the Retailer network by resolving accounting related issues on the draw and instant side of the business.
Conduct research on new games and promotions.
Attend public affairs special events and Lottery parties.
Interact with the regional managers and district sales managers on a weekly basis to foster a relationship.
Assist in the recruiting of new Retailers.
Work with the Lottery Reps to upgrade existing Retailers
Attend Retailer rallies and all Retailer related functions
Attend monthly sales meetings
Complete all paperwork and expenses on a timely fashion
Perform any other duties required by management
Position Requirements
Position Requirements and Skills:
College degree preferred
At least 3 years of sales experience is preferred, however related work experience would be considered.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
