Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Corporate Financial Reporting group is seeking a talented and self-motivated Financial Analyst to join the team. This individual will assist with the monthly consolidation and reporting of SPE’s financial results (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) and management reporting. Reporting encompasses both internal reporting to senior management including the CEO and CFO, as well as, external reporting use.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and communicate with the divisional finance groups to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting of financial information
• Assist in the consolidation of Sony Pictures Entertainment including the upload and review of divisional submissions
• Analyze monthly divisional packages (supplemental financial information)
• Prepare/post monthly topside adjustments/reclassification entries
• Assist in responding to inquiries from SCA and Sony Tokyo on the financial results of SPE
• Prepare financial and supplemental schedules for the Management Book
• Assist with streamlining and improving the consolidation process
• Assist in the resolution of SAP BW (SAP Business Warehouse) and BPC (consolidation system) software problems/questions
• Assist manager in the creation/enhancement of financial reports generated from SAP BW and BPC
• Assist in the maintenance of SPE’s chart of accounts and profit center hierarchy
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly disclosure and respond to divisional inquiries on the reporting requirements
• Assist with quarterly governmental reporting
• Complete various ad-hoc special projects
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required
• 1-3 years finance/accounting experience within public accounting or the entertainment Industry is a plus
• Recent college graduates with relevant internship experience and a GPA of 3.5 and above will also be considered
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Flexibility and self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging, fast paced environment
• Detail oriented
• Very strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Experience with SAP, BPC and/or general accounting/consolidation systems and advanced Excel functionality a plus
