Job Summary:
The Senior Buyer/Planner, Supply Chain Planning will be responsible for the planning and forecasting of monthly demand and supply for regional clients. This position will also support CPFR initiatives with suppliers externally and Platform planners internally.
The Senior Planner will assist in the short and long-term strategic direction for aspects specific to demand and supply plans for assigned commodities, including plans to drive consumption of aging material through increased production and utilization of remanufactured equipment, while ensuring product availability. The Senior Buyer/Planner will assist in promoting synergy among all business support groups of the global supply chain, and primarily does this by influencing the teams and peers in Sourcing, Supplier Management, Production and Engineering, to ensure departmental results are delivered in accordance with the Supply Chain Planning strategic plan and Company Core Values.
Position Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in the daily review, and action planning for key KPI’s across the supply chain
• Assist in the validation/upload, creation, and maintenance of planning and forecasting data
• Assist in the implementation, data management, and development of an advanced planning solution
• Devise plans and develop, maintain and improve upon best in class performance in forecasting, inventory levels, and service levels
• Ensure appropriate safety stock levels are maintained to avoid stock out situation without risking E&O exposure
• Monitor inventory levels and expected deliveries and take necessary actions in a timely manner to ensure backorders are minimized.
• Assist in the implementation, data management, and development of an advanced planning solution
• Lead and influence in a highly matrixed environment and have significant interaction with functional teams such as Procurement, Supplier Management, Sourcing, Platform planning, Finance, and Production.
• Devise Supply Chain Planning tactics and collaborate with Procurement and Finance to develop plans, and reporting while maintaining customer experience (continuity of service balanced with Cash flow)
• Build and maintain communication channels among all operational groups within the supply chain through information sharing, thought leadership, and tactical and strategic planning
• Deliver analysis and data on supply chain performance (for planning and procurement – inventory levels, equipment costs, etc.)
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain management, Engineering or Finance. Masters Degree preferred.
Required Experience:
• 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Supply Chain management or Global Procurement
• Experience with ERP systems
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Very detail oriented, able to identify anomalies and errors in data, and to capture trends to apply to planning model.
• Strong ability to move between tactical and strategic aspects of business
• Proven ability to set direction, clearly articulate a strong point of view and influence others
• Exceptional financial and analytical skills, including deep knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• Working knowledge of Oracle ASCP highly preferred
• High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth environment
• Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity
• Able to assess a variety of information, draw similarities and compile actionable recommendations
• Strong interpersonal skills
