JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the President of Music with all day-to-day operational needs. The primary focus will be on Theatrical productions including Paramount Pictures, Paramount Animation and Paramount Players
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Interact with talent to ensure that all music needs are met from pre-production thru post-production:
• Supply ideas before principle photography
• Work on pre-records for on-camera scenes
• Provide replacement options in post-production to ensure we meet our budget
• Secure necessary filmmaker/production executives’ approvals
• Interface with film Development, Production, & Post-Production executives to service general music needs:
• Ensure elements are at the correct destination to make key deadlines
• Ensure continuity between production & promotional activities
• Secure necessary paramount approvals
• Breakdown scripts in the creation of music budgets
• Track music cue sheets to ensure projects come in under budget
• Working with producers to create original music for song placements
• Route soundtrack & all music related print materials for approvals
• Supply music for trailer, TV spots and all other promotional activities
• Notify key stakeholders of all related deadlines
• Secure artists for ad hoc needs
• Work closely with Record Labels & Publishing Co.’s to place emerging & established talent in our television programs.
• Monitor & track unsigned and unpublished artists for film & advertising placements
• Work closely with Music Libraries to find creative suitable replacements that keep us under budget
• Liaise with Composers and their camps to ensure that all needs are met throughout the process
• Coordinate with Record Labels to make sure all music elements are received for mastering; all credit/legal info is received & that all key deadlines are met for physical street date releases
• Prep memos and buck slips for President, Music to higher ups at Paramount & Major Record Labels
• Book bands & coordinate all the logistics for the Paramount Music Dept. Showcases
Basic qualifications:
• Minimum 10-15 years previous experience in the music and/or post production industry
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business, or equivalent work experience
• Previous music supervisor experience, preferably television
Additional Qualifications
Desired skills:
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry and key people in the music business
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
• Must have strong organizational skills and problem solving skills
• Good oral and written communication skills are necessary in order to interface effectively with Company management, vendors and recording companies
