Atlantic 57 is seeking a digitally savvy editor to lead the day-to-day editorial operation for a thought leadership and news platform. The platform is dedicated to providing deep and sophisticated coverage of business topics for international audiences.
The ideal candidate for this role will have an understanding and interest in global and business-related topics, experience managing a daily editorial operation and experience working with multiple stakeholders.
The person in this role will work with an agile team of editors, developers, strategists and designers to grow a robust digital content platform for C-Suite executives, policymakers and academic leaders.
This role requires the ability to strategically identify and execute opportunities to meet the needs of audiences and the goals of the platform. The Editor will be a member of Atlantic 57’s editorial team, which works alongside its strategy, product and research teams.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing future themes and story ideas across global business topics
• Developing ideas for flagship editorial concepts, coordinated thematic coverage and columnist development
• Recruiting high-profile expert authors to contribute thought leadership pieces to the platform
• Ensuring journalistic standards of quality and substance in all contributed content, original headlines and images
• Editing contributor pieces for clarity, accuracy and style.
• Managing weekly editorial planning calls and long-term editorial calendar
• Managing daily communications between external and internal stakeholders who contribute content to the platform
• Assessing analytics to derive insights that will inform content and product strategy over the long term
• Collaborating with digital product team to oversee enhancements to the platform including constant optimizations across website, email and social media channels
• Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to contribute high-level strategic guidance around the growth and development of the platform
• Support the executive executive editor in working with stakeholders to broaden the reach and impact of content through creative digital strategies aligned with the best practices of modern media organizations
Qualifications:
• Extensive reporting and editing experience in a top-tier, daily deadline digital newsroom environment
• Excellent written communications skills and the ability to present ideas to senior stakeholders (VP and C-level) in executive formats
• Experience and interest with global business content
• Ability to identify communications challenges and present a strategic solution in a succinct manner
• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and addresses them proactively
• Unyielding attention to detail and enduring commitment to excellence
• Ability to maintain grace under pressure
• Passion for journalism and the future of digital media
