In order to realize this opportunity, Airbnb’s global luxury marketing team is looking for an organized, self-starter to take on an operations management role supporting multi-market, multi-discipline projects and team operations across the globe.
S/he will drive planning, process, routines, and internal communications within the team, and between the team and its many stakeholders and partners, including an array of functions within luxury marketing organisation and in region, as well as with our business partners, operations, public policy, legal, product and engineering, analytics and finance.
S/he has exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and team-building skills, and is known for strategic thought leadership without shying away from the details. S/he must be able to succeed in a fast-paced and often-ambiguous, often-changing environment and be able to thrive in and work with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced strategist and/or management consultant and marketer, is data-driven, outcomes-focused, and consistently a self-starter who proactively identifies and solves problems and continuously seeks ways to move our entire marketing function forward.
This role will report to the Head of Marketing for Luxury @ Airbnb and will be located in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
• Lead and drive marketing strategy work streams across a variety of important topics to maximize the impact of luxury marketing at Airbnb
• Evaluating our marketing investments across paid, owned, and earned media to provide a holistic view of our channel efficiency and messaging mix
• Driving data-driven insights on and rationalizing our various audience segments to inform targeting and improve marketing ROI
• Running lead on efforts bringing together a highly cross-functional team to drive decision-making and execute against new marketing initiatives and goals
• Drive development of Marketing strategy and (annual/bi-annual) plans
• Manage marketing finance & budget processes, ensuring scopes of work, forecasts, actualizations and re-investments are accurate and timely.
• Enable clear, consistent and timely cascade of information across teams globally
• Lead and drive consulting-type strategy workstreams across a variety of important topics to maximize the impact of luxury marketing at Airbnb
• Develop and deliver a synthesis of our integrated marketing plans and socializing with stakeholders (e.g. CEO, marketing leadership, product leadership etc)
• Scope and recommend a new operating model for optimizing and integrating marketing efforts
• See strategic recommendations through to execution, ensuring proposals are resourced and implemented successfully and delivering real impact to the organization and Facebook's brand and product marketing efforts
• Identify and incorporate both internal and external benchmarks and best practices to bring Airbnbs luxury marketing to world class standards
• Improve and run intra-team routines, document and share discussions, agreements, and next steps consistently to all relevant teams
Qualifications
• 5-8 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, and/or strategic planning and operations for a marketing org (internet and/or consumer technology vertical)
• Proven ability to lead, influence and work across organizational and geographic boundaries with a track record of building excellent relationships with a broad range of peers and executives
• Strong analytical skills with robust excel / spreadsheets experience and proficient in project management and communications means and methods
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, able to calmly and confidently communicate with all levels of the organization in a relevant manner
• Experience managing small, high-performing teams
• Attention to detail, methodical with the ability to translate complex problems into actionable solutions
• Motivated, collaborative, and confident self-starter who is also natural team player and able to build relationships with diverse set of colleagues at all management levels
• Ability to think, plan, prioritize, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
• Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and occasional tight deadlines for ad hoc requests
• Thrives in and enjoys a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, self-starter environment
