RESPONSIBILITIES: Travel + Leisure is looking for an Associate Photo Editor. The Associate is responsible for bringing beautiful and inspiring images to an award-winning national travel magazine. The job will have a strong research component of finding existing photos of locations around the world – both scenic shots and service such as hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. for print and digital. The position involves intense multi-tasking and working on projects both short and long term simultaneously. The Associate will also produce smaller photo shoots around the world.
QUALIFICATIONS: The main skills needed are a firm grasp of photography research and photography sources – both in the USA and around the world, with an emphasis on travel and/or lifestyle imagery. The Associate must be up to date on photographers currently shooting editorial and their locations. Other requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, strong written and verbal communication skills, a wide knowledge of photography, shoot production experience, and at least 2 years of experience working in a magazine environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InCopy, and Bridge is required. Knowledge of Drupal/CMS is helpful.
